This recipe came from one of mom's cookbooks and had a note written beside it, "Grace adds baking powder" but I'm not sure if its the recipe mom always used. This is from the PA Grange book with the red spine... page 290. 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp salt 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 large eggs 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.)
